Our Ambition
Social mobility in the UK remains low compared to other developed nations, but our model is proven as an effective way to change this: students who come to Harris Westminster go on to do incredible things.
We know Harris Westminster 'works'. Our goal now is to increase the number of underprivileged children attending – and thriving whilst at – Harris Westminster.
To do this, we need to increase the financial, pastoral and academic support we offer. We want to:
- Offer more significant bursaries, including travel grants, to support disadvantaged students and encourage more children from underserved backgrounds to apply;
- Better support students' pastoral needs by employing a counsellor, educational pyschologist, specialist pastoral staff and a school nurse;
- Provide opportunities for our students to visit universities outside London and provide chances to build their social capital through cultural and work experience programmes.
With your help, we can ensure more children from ordinary and disadvantaged backgrounds are able to meet their potential. Click here to find out more.
